Guillermo Andrade of 424 Creates Custom Mercurial Superfly 360

Throwing some custom colour onto the LA scene, Guillermo Andrade, head of design and co-founder of store 424 on Fairfax, has created a bespoke Mercurial Superfly 360 at the Nike By You Football Workshop in Los Angeles.

Andrade added some signature flair to the project by whipping up a range of custom football jerseys to sit alongside the graphic Mercurial design. In his own words, he explains, "I wanted to focus in on the special moments of football where its all about the passion and love for the game, our beautiful game. The feeling of playing in the streets when you have no fame or fortune but the glory of scoring a goal. A moment to shine and celebrate not only ourselves but also with the crowds that helps us get there."

For the design of the the Nike Mercurial Superfly 360 football boots Andrade wanted to create a repeat pattern that would work across all boots. The concept he landed on was one of of an exploding crowd in the split seconds after the ball hits the back of the net, hence the vibrant effect reminiscent of flares and silhouettes.

A collection of bespoke jerseys were also on show at the Nike By You project in Los Angeles. Andrade's artwork represented chapters in his life, from growing up playing football in the streets to intense match day atmosphere of standing on the terraces at the stadium,
